Bakpia (Pia Cake with Mung Bean filling)

Bakpia is a traditional food from Yogyakarta. A type of cake containing a mixture of mung beans, but recently come in other fillings as well, e.g. chocolate, durian, and cheese.

According to Wikipedia, Bakpia originally came from China with the name "Tou Luk Pia" which in Hokkian dialect means "meat-filled cake". However, Bakpia in Yogyakarta has been adapted to the people of Yogyakarta, so that Bakpia which was originally a meat-filled cake was replaced with mung bean filling. The taste is different and has a distinctive taste.

Bakpia is perfect as a light snack to accompany coffee or tea. The taste is sweet, the texture is crunchy but soft when eaten, and full of mung bean filling. Bakpia is one of the foods that you must try when visiting Yogyakarta (^▽^)🌼
